The Mediator (male or female) is appointed and presented by the director at the start of the school year.
If you would like to make an appointment with someone on the ombuds team, you can do so at ombuds@crescendo-cvo.be. Send an e-mail with a brief description of your complaints and your contact information to ombuds@crescendo-cvo.be.
The ombudsperson guarantees complete discretion and will not do anything without your permission. He/she tries to obtain a solution to the problem, taking into account the interests of all parties involved. He/she is independent of the evaluation committee and the teaching team and acts only as a neutral intermediary with no conflict of interest.
The mediator (male or female)
- independently mediates a dispute between you and a staff member if you cannot resolve it directly with the staff member concerned
- acts as a mediator between yourself and the evaluation committee. He or she investigates all complaints regarding the evaluation regulations, the conduct of evaluations and deliberations.
- The ombudsperson has the right to be present at the deliberation and to request all necessary information about the evaluations from the evaluation committee members, both before and during the deliberation. He/she is bound to secrecy of the deliberations. Under no circumstances shall the ombudsperson be a voting member of the evaluation committee.
- If during or immediately after an evaluation you find that irregularities or abuses have occurred, you can complain to the ombudsperson up to three days (not counting Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and statutory holidays) after the evaluation. The chair of the evaluation committee or their delegate will investigate and may decide to have the evaluation or part of the evaluation redone. This procedure must be completed within three days (not counting Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and statutory holidays) of the complaint being filed.
- As a student, you have the right to inspect the student file, including evaluations. For inspection, make an appointment with the director or deputy director of your training programme.
- If you are not satisfied with the handling of your complaint or with the outcome, you can take your complaint to the Agency for Higher Education, Adult Education, Qualifications and Study Grants (AHoVoKS) or to the Flemish Ombuds Service. For further information please see the centre regulations.
