For whom?
- You have obtained a certificate of Threshold 3 and 4 (2.3 and 2.4) for oral and/or writing skills, or you have passed an oral and/or writing entry level test.
- For this course, you require a computer, laptop or tablet with a webcam and internet connection. If you don't have one, send us an e-mail at nederlands.mechelen@crescendo-cvo.be or call 015 28 20 42. A trajectory counselor will help you find a solution.
What?
- In Vantage (level 3) you learn to perfect your Dutch, so that you can communicate more fluently, precisely and naturally with Dutch speakers.
- Level 3 is the language level required for nearly all bachelor's and master's programmes in Flanders.
- There is an oral course (3.1) and a writing course (3.2).
Materials?
Your teacher will inform you at the start of the course about the course material.
- The book for the oral course in the first semester is 'Aan het woord 4.1' (ISBN 978-90-301-5077-0). In the second semester, 'Aan het woord 3.1' (ISBN 978-90-301-5011-4) is used. You can find these in most bookstores.
- In the writing module (3.2), you will work with a syllabus provided by the teacher.
- After you have registered for this course, you will receive an e-mail with a login and password. This information will allow you to access the online learning platform of Crescendo CVO.
- You will also receive access to the complete Microsoft Office package, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
On campus, online, or a combination?
Blended learning with internship (morning classes)
- In this course, 50% of the oral classes take place at the Mechelen campus, where you attend classes with the whole group on Tuesday mornings. The rest of the time, you participate in online classes and practice your Dutch at the mandatory internship of 15 hours (which we will help you find).
- The oral course (3.1 or 4.1) is always combined with an open module 'extra writing at level 3 and 4' on Friday mornings.
100% online learning (morning or evening classes)
- The classes are 100% online. You will get plenty of practice opportunities and rich, personalised feedback in the comfort of your home.
- You work independently on assignments in the virtual learning environment. We have over a decade of experience in developing high-quality digital exercises that will effectively upgrade your skills.
- You also take interactive classes where you receive live feedback through videocalls in 'Teams' with the other students in your group. Just like on campus, the teacher is always available to offer assistance. Sometimes you work alone, sometimes in pairs or in a larger group, sometimes together with the whole class.
Where and when?
The 3.1 and 4.1 courses can be taken in a blended learning course OR in a 100% online learning course.
The 3.2 and 4.2 courses can only be taken in a 100% online learning course.
